I came across your blog entry yesterday when preparing for a fundraiser for our Cambodian programs via GlobalGiving which begins June 16th. Although a I am bit late, I do want to say a proper thank you for your thoughtful remarks which you made in response to Nick Kristof's blog item last March. Mark Rosasco is my husband and we have had considerable experience with the situation which he describes. The current economic crisis has made funding our programs even more challenging.

But, just in case you have an extra 5 minutes , please do visit our projects to see what we are about at:

Summer Arts Camp for Orphans 2010

AIDS Patients Family Support Program ( FSP )

Although I cannot send you our email notice which we sent out for this current funding campaign, I wanted to let you know we did include your blog site as one of our " hot links".

And, just in case the links above fail, please go to the GlobalGiving site at

www.globalgiving.com and search for our name " Kasumisou Foundation"

As I write this note, I must tell you that by happy coincidence I have your wonderful book, The Elephant Walk Cookbook, given to me some years back by friends. Your book is both a visual and cultural feast and one which allows any cook, regardless of skill , to use to create spectacular food!

Again, our sincere thanks for your thoughtful words on our behalf.
